For such a modern apartment building, the elevators are terrible. In addition to being an extremely slow and bumpy ride, there are much more pressing issues with these elevators. There are at least 5 elevators offering access to this multi level building, but I have been struck 3 times by doors that have malfunctioning censors. Elevators are supposed to sense if someone is standing or walking through the closing doors. When this doesn’t work, it’s awful. I would recommend to the owners that they upgrade the elevators. I did speak to the management present after being struck, and they apologized, explaining the building was the first parking garage in Pasadena decades ago. Everything else has been modernized, but the elevators are the same old elevators from the original garage. It explains a lot, but it doesn’t fix the safety issue.
